In a classroom setting, you will be given the tools necessary to master the fundamental culinary and management skills needed for success in the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality industries. In addition, you will receive instruction on employability skills, such as leadership, accountability, teamwork, and responsibility — giving you an edge against any competition that comes your way.
ProStart to Success
Colorado ProStart is a two-year program in the foodservice and hospitality industries that expertly combines classroom instruction and real world experience to ensure that our students are equipped with the tools necessary to secure their futures. Students with little or no experience in the culinary arts or hospitality functionalities are welcome to join us in securing a professional career path.
Junior and senior high school students who demonstrate a passion or even passing interest in the foodservice and hospitality industries would be hard-pressed to find another program that will provide them with as much hands-on experience, both inside and outside the classroom. Currently serving more than 900 students from 27 high schools across Colorado, students are given the knowledge and skills that a career in these industries require for success.
Classroom Experience
Real World Experience
While classroom instruction is a fantastic tool in learning culinary and management skills, nothing beats rolling up your sleeves and getting to work. You will learn how to be an industry professional through hands-on work under the direction of a mentor, who will direct you to connect their current performance with their professional futures.
National Certificate of Achievement
The ProStart National Certificate of Achievement demonstrates that you have what it takes to be a leader, and that you are ready to step into any role in the hospitality industry. It is achieved by completing 400 hours of real work experience, and can open the door to employment and college scholarships.
